- Throat lozenges are among the easiest options to cure it. They give the mouth enough moisture and cleanse the infected throat.

The best way to prevent a sore throat is by avoiding things that can infect it. With your modern lifestyle, however, this can be very hard to do. Here are some practices that will minimize the chances of infections.
- Avoid irritants like cigarette smoke and pollution. Don't stay in places prone to changes in temperature. Shouting is also not good for your throat.
- Breathe through your nose to filter the bacteria and viruses that may get into your body. Experts also suggest swallowing regularly. They say saliva is one of the best throat cleaners.
- Avoid using air fresheners and deodorants. They can irritate the lining of the throat exposing it to infection.
- Eat right and exercise regularly. This will strengthen you immune system thereby making your body more capable of combating ailments.
