What Are The Charactoristics Of The Top Cardiology Hospitals?
Are you wondering what makes top cardiology hospitals better than others? Imagine knowing that Dr. Daniel Hale Williams (1856-1931), considered the innovator of open heart surgery, was on staff at your cardiology center. That would give you a certain level of confidence about the facility. It might be like taking your 1908 Model T to Henry Ford for a personal tune-up. Talk about a mechanic you could trust with your car. Of course, with decades of research and technological advancement, heart care centers today boast a higher success rate than the hospitals in Dr. Williams' day.
Only a small percentage of hospitals can be considered truly remarkable. Naturally, a clinical setting that is focused on treating the patient as a whole person is preferable. Patients do not usually have just a heart problem; they need compassion and support for their overall physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, too.
Physicians and support staff should be knowledgeable about the latest techniques, technology and medical research. These are a few things you should expect to find in the best hospitals.
1. Awards and recognition from the medical community or licensing agencies for excellence.
2. Doctors and surgeons have impeccable reputations with both their peers and the patients.
3. Innovative research programs.
4. Taking advantage of new surgical methods and techniques.
5. Preventative care programs and patient education venues.
6. Highly skilled, compassionate staff from the nurses to the specialists.
When comparing heart care centers it is important to look at the services they provide. Vascular and cardiac health is improved with preventative and urgent care practices. The best facilities address heart related medical issues at every level. At the very least, the top hospitals will offer the following services.
• Technology for early detection and treatment of heart disease
• Emergency care for heart attack and chest pain sufferers
• On-site cath lab
• Fully furnished surgical facilities
• Rehabilitation programs for in-house and outpatient recovery
• Exceptionally skilled cardiac/vascular surgeon specialists
The American Heart Association (AHA) recognizes the best among heart care centers and hospitals. They also confer honors on physicians, surgeons and researchers that make significant contributions to the medical community. Finding a facility that is an AHA award recipient goes a long way toward identifying a superior hospital for your cardiac care.
Ask your primary care physician for a recommendation. Look for a hospital that has received AHA awards or Gold Seal certification from the Joint Commission. They promote safe medical practices as well as patient protection because your health has an effect on your entire life. Selecting one of the top cardiology hospitals for your treatment is a great start to take control of your cardiac health.

Magnetic Devices - Can They Really Help My Pain?
Albert Davis and Walter Rawls believe so. After prolonged investigation they proved that in every case whether animal or human where internal repair was going on in the body, there was an increase in the negative biochemical potential of the surface of the affected region.
Of greater interest to us is the fact that when a negative or north-pole magnet was applied to the area there was a reduction in pain. This shows that the application of a magnetic device can produce the same natural action as the body.
There are some who will say, "Oh it's just mind over matter." I say who cares as long as the pain goes away, but listen to my favourite cat story. My mum had a very old and much loved cat, he was badly affected by arthritis and over the Christmas period he began dragging his hind legs behind him as he tried to move around.
The veterinarian was closed of course, so this was not to be a merry Christmas for this cat. It is important for me to add that this was a very cantankerous cat that refused to have even a flea collar around its neck. We carefully draped a magnetic necklace around its neck and waited for an angry response from the star patient. You guessed it there was none! She just purred away. Our visit lasted three days and at the end of that time the cat was walking normally and even jumping up on the couch leavings his fur everywhere as usual.
I have interviewed many people who have had relief from hip pain, back pain, crushed fingers, toothache, and many other illnesses such as asthma, stomach ulcers and sinusitis.
Magnetised water:
The usefulness of magnetised water for removing old deposits in boilers, cooling water pipes and evaporators, was the incentive for Mitsutane Sugi of the Association of Modern Chinese Medicine, to study 45 outpatients ranging from 6 years to 61 years old in the Shanghai Hoaton Hospital.
Patients were asked to stop all other treatment.
Results. 5 cases (11.1%) excreted stones, 6 cases (13.5%) lost shadows of stones on radiogram, 7 cases (15.6%) showed downward movement of their stones and 3 cases (6.7%) showed smaller or more porous stones.
Is it safe to wear magnetic devices?
There has been no evidence that using magnetic devices has any harmful side effects. It is comforting to know that on this matter all the researchers agree. In face recent studies have found that magnetic fields reduce some of the harmful side effects of medical drugs and even improve the action of drugs. An example is Sleeping pills. When used along with magnets the pills gave a deeper sleep, for a shorter time, and far more restful. If you are pregnant or wear a pace maker check with your health professional.

Cardiovascular Exercise May Be New Cure To Insomnia
To the millions of adults who suffer from insomnia, there is a new drug-free cure to restless nights. It provides a more restful night's sleep. Regular cardiovascular exercise improves your ability to sleep, mood, and vitality. There really is no end to the positive benefits of aerobic workouts.
New studies have examined the effect of aerobic exercise on adults 30 and over that have been diagnosed with insomnia. About half of the people in this age group complain of inability to sleep. This information is relevant to a huge portion of the population. Our society continues to extend our hours of work and our sleep is taking a direct hit because of it. Selling solutions to fatigue is big business. Many take sleep medications that can become addictive over time. Not to mention the billion dollar caffeine industry that survives solely on our lack of sleep.
The aerobic workout trials resulted in the most dramatic improvement in patients' reported quality of sleep and sleep length, compared to any other non-drug cure. There are numerous causes of insomnia, but the cause doesn't seem to matter as aerobic exercise has been found to improve sleep for people indiscriminately. Insomnia increases as we age. After 40, our sleep patterns begin to change drastically. It is imperative that we find behavioral ways to improve sleep. Now that we know cardio exercise is a simple strategy to help people sleep better and feel more vibrant, we can add it to the list of reasons to exercise.
One of the best assets of this strategy is the fact that it is completely drug-free. It eliminates the potential of a sleeping medication negatively interacting with other drugs a person may be taking. Also, most agree drug-free solutions should always be tried first. Sleep is important to a healthy lifestyle just like nutrition and fitness.
By improving a person's sleep, you can improve their physical and mental health. Sleep is a measure of health similar to one's temperature. It should be the fifth vital sign. We know someone is more likely to be in poor health with problems managing their hypertension or diabetes if they don't sleep well.
Exercise is good for many things other than sleep including metabolism, weight control, cardiovascular health, strength, and energy. Before you go to your doctor looking for a cure for sleep deprivation try the natural method and go for a run. The studies show you have a 50% percent chance of improved sleep. What do you have to lose?

Medical Spa: Services Commonly Offered
Scheduling an appointment at a medical spa is much more than just an appointment at the local salon. A doctor oversees the entire facility and works with patients to perform special treatments that require a certain expertise. These facilities often encompass the benefits of a traditional salon, a dermatology office, and a physician's office. Here are a few of the services most commonly offered at these establishments.
Laser Hair Removal:
Unwanted hair often brings patients into a medical spa. They want to find out which options are available so that they no longer have use for their razors and shaving creams. It takes multiple appointments to get successful results and with a doctor overseeing the process, clients feel confident that they are in good hands.
Technology is constantly evolving when it comes to laser hair removal and these types of facilities offer clients the most up to date opportunities for effective treatments. All appointments should be planned out in advance, as there are some time constraints between appointments that must be adhered to.
Skin Tightening and Injections:
Professionals at a medical spa can administer products like Juvederm and Botox. The overall idea is to gain a more youthful appearance while diminishing wrinkles and making the skin look smoother. Both men and women sign up for these injections to turn back the clock and present a fresh, well-rested appearance to the public. The effects are often immediate and there is very little down time. Many clients come into the facility at lunchtime and return to work immediately following.
Microdermabrasion:
In addition to a facial, a medical spa often offers microdermabrasion. During the procedure, the facial skin is exfoliated, with the dead skin cells being removed. While there are over the counter products that can give some results, the use of ultrasonic waves can also rid the skin of some other imperfections including dark spots and even dark circles under the eyes. When the new skin is revealed, a person's face looks cleaner, brighter and overall a person often seems rejuvenated.
More Traditional Services:
Aside from those treatments that must be administered by a physician, a medical spa also offers more traditional services. Massages and pedicures are common requests. Sometimes a client will come in looking for a complete day of treatments. It is not unusual to have someone set up a microdermabrasion appointment to be followed up with a massage or pedicure.
If you are interested in any of the mentioned treatments, it is important to set up an appointment in advance. Because certain services will require a follow up appointment, scheduling should be figured out as early as possible to ensure that it fits into a person's schedule.

Omega 3 Vitamins
The popularity of Omega 3 vitamins in this generation is increasing. So much has been said about Omega 3 that even the World Wide Web has its virtual library full of information about these essential fatty acids. But, given all the supposed benefits of Omega 3, it isn't wise to invest on these nutritional supplements yourself without doing some more careful research and definitely not without your doctor's advice.
As in almost everything in this world, Omega 3 supplements come with side effects and special precautions. Although studies point out that this type of fatty acids can ward off heart problems by regulating blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels, not everyone who has heart problems or is at risk to development these sooner or later will benefit from Omega 3 supplementation. The reason? Omega 3 fatty acids have blood-thinning properties, which increase the possibility of hemorrhage, and which can be potentially fatal if the patient suffers from a stroke. Individuals who are on anti-coagulant medications as part of their treatment plan are not supposed to take omega 3 vitamins, either, not without their doctor's permission because they can interact with one another, causing negative reactions.
If you're allergic to fish or sea foods, taking omega 3 may not be a good idea also. While taking high quality brands of fish oil reduces the possibility of an allergic reaction, such may still happen, and allergic reactions as we know can be mild but they can also be severe.
So just because it's all over the internet that Omega 3 fatty acids are good for the health, it doesn't mean that it's good for everybody and that you will just simply join everybody else in the bandwagon. First things first - visit your doctor. Indeed, going to the doctor who will have you run some test should be the very first thing in your mind when considering to supplement your diet with Omega 3. Never take this supplement without fully understanding just how it can affect your health, positively or negatively.
After clearing the matter with your doctor, the next thing to do is to select the best Omega 3 supplements out there. I tell you, think can be a very tricky process as there are hundreds of brands, trying to outdo one another. The basic rule of thumb to remember is to go for substance rather than form. Don't be easily fooled by the great packaging. Looks are very often deceiving, as you must know by now. Here are a few guidelines to help you out:
Check the label, making sure the amounts of EPA and DHA are specified. Some Omega 3 brands only indicate the total Omega 3 component, and that is not good enough. The top brands will always have some way of determining how much EPA and DHA are in the capsule.
Choose pharmaceutical grade. Why settle for anything else? Pharmaceutical grade means the product successfully meets the standards set for supplements. Finally,
Choose molecular-distilled. This means contaminants have been carefully and effectively removed from Omega 3 vitamins but without reducing the contents of the fish oil.

Six Unusual Tips To Get Six Pack Abs
There is nothing quick or magical about getting a six pack. Getting ripped abs can be long and tedious. It takes time, hard work, and dedication. By making the right decisions each day, you can get a six pack. However, if you frequently cheat like most people, then you will never see your abs. Follow these six tips to get a six pack.
Your body requires water! You need to start your day by hydrating. Researchers found that drinking 16 ounces of cold water first thing in the morning boosts metabolism by 24 percent for 90 minutes afterward. Drink at least a gallon of water over the course of a day for hydration, health, and to keep your metabolism burning.
Don't skip breakfast. A study found that people who skip breakfast are 4.5 x more likely to be overweight. So make sure you eat within an hour after waking up. I like to eat 3 hardboiled eggs and an apple to get my metabolism going first thing in the morning.
Review your goals at least once each month. It's important that you stay aware of your goals and that you are taking the appropriate actions to achieve them. Scientists found that people who monitored their diet and exercise goals were much more likely to progress their fitness level.
Bring your lunch with you to work. I have a whole compartment of my bag that is devoted to protein filled snacks. Success starts at the grocery store and buying the right healthy snacks. Some of my favorite healthy snacks are tuna pouches, protein bars, peanut bags, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and deli meats. By eating five times per day, you'll keep your body well fed and satisfied throughout the day without overeating. You will also have the necessary fuel needed for your workout. Equally important is a reduction in sugar cravings from keeping your insulin level stable throughout the day.
It's easy to forget that everyone has abs. The problem is that most people have too much fat on top to ever see them underneath. So instead of focusing on doing a billion crunches, you should focus on burning fat during your workouts. Some of the best ways to burn fat in a short amount of time are sprint interval training, 45-60 minutes of moderate intensity cardio, and high intensity interval training workouts. Mixing up your routine is crucial for continued results.
Getting a six pack requires sleep. That's because lack of sleep disrupts the hormones that control your fat burning ability. Scientists recently found that lack of sleep can cause your muscle cells to become resistant to the hormone insulin. This will eventually lead to fat and weight gain.

How To Treat A Broken Nose
A broken nose is a common injury that affects your face. In fact, if an injury is directed to your face and head, your nose is the most prone to it because it the part that protrudes the most from your face. A face impact injury can happen to you at anytime and anywhere. You may experience this while playing your favorite ball game or even as you go about simple activities like walking or cheering on your sports team. A broken nose is commonly manifested by pain, swelling, bleeding and dislocation of the nasal bridge.
Techniques in healing or treating a broken nose depend on how grave the injury is. Here are some of the ways through which you can treat your broken nose.
At the onset and in cases when the injury is not really grave, first aid methods include the application of ice through a cold pack to the nose. This is to prevent your nose from swelling as well as to alleviate the pain. Medications for the pain and the swelling can also be taken. You should keep your head held high to avoid the unnecessary rush of blood to the break.
Immediately consult a doctor, who in turn can check if blood has not gathered in your nose. Your doctor would also know whether to prescribe other medicines aside from painkillers. You might be subjected to tests and x-rays, too, so that you can be sure as to the extent of the damage that has to be healed.
Observe your nose over the next days. If it is not really broken and has just swollen due to the impact, it would heal by itself over time. You can simply allow for the natural process of healing take place. But of course you have to help out by ensuring that your nose is not overworked at that time. Avoid sneezing too loudly, picking your nose and exposing it to bumps and blows.
For more serious breaks where the bone structure is already affected, you can opt to undergo surgical procedures. They would correct your nose and bring it back to its fully functional state.
If you are ever unsure what to do, it is recommended that you consult your doctor or osteopath. These trained medical professionals know how to reduce your pain and help your body health itself. They are experts to determine the ways to treat or at least lessen the pain of your broken nose.

Seeing an ENT for Nose Bleeds
Nose bleeds, referred to as epistaxis in the medical community, can be scary, especially if happening for no apparent reason. While the cause behind a bleeding nose can be serious, it usually isn't. By going to see an ENT (ear, nose, and throat specialist), you can usually find out the root cause behind the nose bleeds and figure out if there is anything you can do about it. They will often run tests and may offer some suggestions on how to control the bleeding in the future. Sometimes a nose spray may be prescribed to control the condition or reduce some of the inflammation that may be behind the epistaxis. Here are some issues you can bring up with your doctor about the problem.
When Is It Serious?
While nose bleeds are usually not serious and very rarely fatal, you should definitely ask your ENT when you should consider making a future appointment or heading to the emergency room. A trickle of blood is one thing and a gush is something else altogether. Your doctor, after evaluating your symptoms and the results of any tests he may have run, should have a good idea about what is causing the epistaxis. As such, he will be able to provide you with helpful information concerning when you should consider the problem serious enough to contact medical help.
Prevention
If nose bleeds are nothing else, they can be annoying. You have to generally stop whatever it is you're doing, hold your head up, clog it with tissues, or do whatever else your ENT recommends to stop the flow of blood. It's messy, you wind up ruining clothes, and people look at your askance when you have a river of crimson flowing from your nostrils. Your best bet is to stop it before it starts. Talk to your doctor about prevention. Medications, techniques, nasal sprays, and other methods can go a long way towards making sure you can at least reduce their frequency.
Medical History
When consulting with your ENT, it's important to not leave anything out of your medical history. There could be clues there that provide a light towards figuring out what's causing your occurrences. Make sure you mention any medications you've been taking, activities you've been pursuing, and anything else that might be relevant. If you lie or omit information that could help him with a diagnosis, he may not be able to provide you with a way to stop the problem.

Lasting Freedom From Emotional Eating
Breaking free from emotional eating is more attainable than most of us first believe. I once walked out of a therapist's office, never to return after I asked him, "Is it really possible to heal this?" He said, "Yes, Laurel, it is possible." I didn't believe him and turned my back on getting help. I suffered needlessly mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically for years as a result.
First, know that healing from emotional eating seems impossible only because it feels impossible. We often confuse the feeling with the reality. If something feels overwhelming, that doesn't mean it has to be overwhelming. It simply means that from the perspective we have, that is our experience.
Don't let your feelings on the matter keep you from obtaining the methods and answers on how to create lasting freedom. Freedom and healing from emotionally triggered eating is completely possible. Not only is it possible, it is also a transformative experience.
There are three major benefits to the process:
The first major benefit is weight loss. Excess weight is often a direct result of emotional over-eating. Addressing the emotional reasons behind triggered eating is addressing the root cause of the weight itself. Diets don't work for anyone stuck in an emotional eating cycle because diets alone do not address the root cause. Once we address the root cause and learn the difference between real true physical hunger and false emotional hunger, the weight starts to come off naturally. Naturally occurring weight loss is one of wonderful benefits of breaking free. It feels really good to be at a natural weight, without struggling year after year, to be there.
The second major benefit is the actual method, approach and process itself. The one method that works effectively at helping people heal triggered eating once-and-for-all is called the "non-diet method". So, not only do you escape the negative stress eating cycles, you also learn how to maintain your natural weight, without dieting! I don't know about you, but after about two weeks of being on a diet, I begin to feel resentful and stuck.
The third major benefit to breaking free is that the entire process puts you in deeper connection with who you are, what you are capable of, what your values are and teaches you by default how to live a more fulfilling and self-empowered life. It reconnects you to what is possible and helps you restore your inner balance.
Is lasting freedom from emotional overeating possible? Yes! Is it worth it? Yes, yes, yes!

Importance of Clinics
Have you ever wondered how medical care would have been in the past? Definitely not as advanced as it is today. Good healthcare is the first step to a successful and advanced society. In the last century, many countries have seen developments in the medical systems of their country. With medical science around the world progressing at a very fast pace, new medical equipments and medicines now offer treatments to illnesses that used to be incurable. So let's say you have a minor illness like a flu or headache, does that mean you have to visit the hospital? Although hospitals may have outpatient clinics that cater to such cases, in the recent times many countries have seen private and government clinics appearing in the vicinity of their homes. The purpose of these clinics is to provide convenient and fast medical treatment to not so serious illnesses at a cheaper rate as compared to visiting a hospital for the general public.
Clinics can be set up by the government with subsidized healthcare to cater to the masses of the public who cannot afford expensive treatments. They also help ease the crowds of patients in hospitals. The government would place some of its registered doctors at these facilities to tend to the patients. These clinics can also be associated with hospitals as some hospitals would send their outpatients to these places for treatment once they have been discharged. Routine checkups can be done at clinics that are affiliated with hospitals. Many doctors also choose to set up their own clinics to serve the people of a certain neighborhood. Different clinics may also cater to different medical conditions. For example a maternity clinic would not offer the same services as a clinic for heart diseases. A government clinic usually tends to cater to all types of illnesses and if they are unable to provide treatment or they feel that treatment from a hospital is crucial for the patient, they would refer the patient to a hospital.
The difference in private and government clinics is that in the latter, a patient can get healthcare at a much cheaper rate but would have to wait for a long time before he or she can see the doctor due to the large number of patients there who also wants to seek for medical help. In the former, healthcare is more expensive as they are not subsidized by the government, however a visit to a private clinic may take as less as ten minutes.
As technology and society advances, clinics start to offer more complex services that previously were only available at hospitals. Government clinics usually tend to have more services and facilities offered to the public as they are subsidized but both have their pros and cons.
The existence of medical clinics is a classic example of how far medical revolution has come thus far. These places deal with majority of the public who have different types of illnesses. They have also eased people's access to medical services which in turn improved the standard of living in a specific country or civilization.

Prevention and Treatment For Sore Throat
Sore throats are distressing. You can hardly eat or speak; simple swallowing can be very painful. Here are some tips on how to cure a throat infection if you are frequently troubled by this condition.
Before taking any form of treatment, you have to have a basic understanding what a sore throat is. It is actually an infection in the throat caused by bacteria or virus like cold and flu. It often comes with pain, swelling, itchiness or a dry feeling. The virus may also trigger sneezing, dry cough, and congested or blocked nose.
Majority of the cases are due to environmental irritants. Exposure to polluted environment poses high risk for sore infection. A sudden change in weather and temperature is another factor. Some cases stem from muscle and voice strain, these may last for a few days.
Experts say throat infection can be a sign of too much stress or in worse cases, nerve damage and cancer. Your doctor will consider your case severe when the pain is accompanied by breathing difficulties and high fever. This may no longer be simple irritation but a symptom of underlying conditions you must address immediately.
Sore Throat Remedies
Some items in your house may help you deal with this annoying condition. Here are some examples.
- Drink warm fluids to keep your level of body fluid up. Some good examples are broths and soups. Drinking several glasses of water is also an effective treatment. Avoid drinks with caffeine and alcohol.
- It is important to remove mucus in the affected part of the throat. To do this, mix half tablespoon of salt to a glass of warm water. Use it as a gargle solution. This will help prevent mucus build up and soothe the painful part.
- Lemon and honey make excellent treatment for throat problems. All you need is to squeeze a couple of lemon in a glass of warm water and add the honey. Drinking the mixture will help cleanse the throat and coat the affected area for additional protection.

Lose Weight And Become A Fat Burning Furnace
Why are 1 out of every 3 Americans considered too heavy or even obese these days? Ever notice how many of your friends and family could stand to lose a lot of weight and wonder how they got so big in the first place? What caused this?
Poor eating habits are the main cause of obesity and weight gain and too many of us just kind of let our guard down when it comes to watching what we eat! Look how popular the fast food chains are! They all have a Drive Through window so we don't even have to get up out of the car and God forbid, walk more than 100 steps inside to order the most cheesy fatty chemically preserved foods on the planet!
So what can we do to stop the cycle of poor eating habits? Well for one, we should become aware that we can control how fast we can lose the weight just by making a few little changes in our everyday diets! What kinds of changes you wonder? Small changes like this.
First stop eating and drinking all that sugar! Did you know sugar is the easiest to convert into fat? It is in too many of our everyday foods! The soda you drink has an average of 40 grams of sugar. You drink 3 of those a day that's 120 grams of pure sugar that will go straight to all the wrong places on your body! You know where!
We basically know already what we are eating that is bad for the waistline now don't we? Let's just see a list of the best foods for weight loss and see if we can introduce them into our regular meals, shall we? Here goes.
Apples
Steak
Eggs
Kale
Oats
Lentils
Wild Salmon
Buckwheat Pasta
Blueberries
Yogurt
These are just a few of the best foods for weight loss you could should want to eat daily to help shed the weight quickly and safely!
All of these are nutritious and burn fat the natural way! They're dozens of recipes that you can find online to mix these foods with and enjoy their fresh taste and health benefits. You will notice that none of these items are on most "fast food" menus huh? Why is that I wonder?
It is smarter and cheaper to buy your groceries and pick only the foods you like and that are actually good for you! Take a typical family of 4 to the fast food place and how much would that cost? Maybe 15.00? more like 25.00?
Now take that same money to the grocer and see what you can buy and how much more real food you get for the trade!
I found a way that combines the right foods and the right quantities to quickly and easily burn the fat. If you are really serious about losing a few pounds or more you need to stop eating the junk foods and the sugar in them to make any real difference!
You can do it if you really want, starting today! But you have to do the hardest thing in the world and that is to try something, anything that is different from what you have been eating or else you probably wouldn't be reading this now. The first step is the hardest!
Take a few minutes and make a list of what "bad" foods you eat on a regular day and then try to replace them with some of these excellent fat burning foods and watch what happens! Your waist will shrink and you'll feel so much better because you know you are doing something good for yourself and you accomplished a small goal!
